James Hargrove is a partner in Orrick's International Arbitration Practice Group, based in London and Geneva. He has over 20 years’ experience and has acted as counsel in over 80 international arbitrations, in all of the main arbitration fora worldwide and under all of the recognised arbitration rules. He also acts in court litigation relating to arbitration matters.  James has a particular specialisation and interest in arbitrations relating to energy, commodities, trading, finance and technology (he is particularly active in thought leadership on tech and arbitration issues). He also has a strong background in Russian and CIS disputes, and has acted on some of the largest cases in that sector over the last 20 years. James speaks regularly on arbitration issues and has recently been elected to the LCIA User’s Council.
