The Russian Arbitration Association (RAA) and the AALCO Hong Kong Regional Arbitration Centre (AALCO-HKRAC) have signed a Memorandum of Understanding on 20 October 2026 in Hong Kong.
The signing ceremony was attended by representatives of both institutions Roman Zykov (RAA Secretary General), Dennis Cai (AALCO-HKRAC Deputy Director); Tatyana Neveeva (Member of the RAA Board); Dmitry Kaysin (Vice-Chariman of the RAA Board) and Desmond Yeung (AALCO-HKRAC Senior Manager).
Established under the auspices of the Asian-African Legal Consultative Organization (AALCO), the Hong Kong Regional Arbitration Centre plays an important role in international arbitration, mediation and other forms of alternative dispute resolution.
Our cooperation will focus on:
1. Promoting international arbitration and mediation through joint events, lectures and training programmes.
2. Facilitating professional exchanges, including sharing expertise, information and publications.
3. Expanding opportunities for arbitrators and mediators, including recommendations of qualified professionals for appointments and institutional panels.
International arbitration thrives on dialogue, professional exchange and cooperation across jurisdictions. Building bridges between arbitration communities is particularly important at a time when the international legal landscape is becoming increasingly fragmented.
We look forward to translating this agreement into practical initiatives and strengthening cooperation between arbitration practitioners in Russia, Hong Kong and the wider Asian-African region.
