Anton V. Asoskov, L.L.D., is a Professor in the Department of Civil Law at the Law Faculty of the Lomonosov Moscow State University, Professor in the Department of Private International Law of the Alexeev Research Centre of Private Law.
He is a Member of the Presidium and Head of the Corporate Disputes Nominating Committee of the International Commercial Arbitration Court at the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of the Russian Federation (MKAS), as well as a member of the Arbitration Council of the German Arbitration Institute (DIS). He also acted as an arbitrator in various arbitration proceedings under the Arbitration Rules of the International Chamber of Commerce (ICC), London Court of International Arbitration (LCIA), Vienna International Arbitral Centre (VIAC), Arbitration Institute of the Stockholm Chamber of Commerce (SCC), as well as under the UNCITRAL Arbitration Rules.
Professor Asoskov has the status of a member of the Council for the Improvement of Arbitration at the Russian Ministry of Justice, and of a member of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators (MCIArb). He is a member of the Working Group at the Council for Codification of the Civil Legislation responsible for preparing the amendments to the Russian Civil Code (section «International Private Law»); he frequently acts as an expert on Russian law in foreign courts and arbitrations.
Fields of scientific interests: private international law, including issues of international civil procedure and international commercial arbitration; corporate law; contract law.
