Nick specialises in international arbitration and leads the London end of the Herbert Smith Freehills London-Moscow arbitration practice, with experience of Russian disputes under LCIA, ICC and UNCITRAL Rules.
He helps corporates, financial institutions, and governments across a range of industry sectors, including energy, TMT, financial services, manufacturing, leisure, and consumer products. A solicitor advocate, he has appeared before arbitral tribunals in Europe and Asia, as well as in the London High Court. He also sits as an arbitrator under various procedural rules.
In addition to his experience in commercial and investment treaty arbitration, Nick handles commercial litigation, and has also assisted clients with regulatory disputes, high-value complaints and internal investigations. He also acts on competition litigation matters, including 'follow-on' damages claims arising from investigations by national and European competition authorities.
