Mikhail acts as counsel and advisor in substantial commercial litigation and arbitration disputes. In recent years, he has appeared in cases before the Russian courts of all instances.

Notable recent cases include: 
  • Acted as counsel for claimant in the RTK case, a leading Russian case on the validity of a unilateral arbitration clause;
  • Acted as counsel for claimant in a notable case on the recovery of moral damages for the non- execution of a court judgement.
Currently, Mikhail acts as counsel for a Russian investor in an ICSID Additional Facility arbitration against an eastern European state.

Mikhail has written a number of articles on international arbitration and litigation in Russian. Since 2016, he has been contributing to the ICCA Yearbook Commercial Arbitration. He was a co-organizer of a survey conducted by the Arbitration Association on the impact of unilateral economic sanctions on commercial arbitration in 2016.

Mikhail holds diploma in law from a Russian university, and he obtained the Geneva LL.M. in International Dispute Settlement (MIDS), a joint LLM program of the University of Geneva School of Law and the Graduate Institute of International and Development Studies.

Mikhail is a member of a number of professional associations, among of which, the Arbitration Association (RAA40) (Moscow), the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators (CIArb) (London), and Swiss Arbitration Association (ASA Below 40).
