Russian arbitration reforms - a case for an attractive venue

(Russian Association for the Promotion of arbitration statutory conference)

Stephenson Harwood and Russian Arbitration Association are delighted to invite you to a panel discussion about the recent Russian arbitration law reforms and the new rules on corporate disputes – their strengths, weaknesses and practical implications. We will discuss the likely effect of the reforms on arbitral proceedings in Russia with a сomparative reference to other popular arbitral venues such as London, Hong Kong and Singapore.

About the Seminar

Among the primary aims of the reforms are the prevention of abuse in Russian domestic arbitration proceedings and improvement of Russian arbitration laws.

To achieve these goals, the new law implements some provisions of the UNCITRAL Model Law on International Commercial Arbitration 1985 (as amended in 2006), imposes new regulatory requirements on the administration of Russian arbitration proceedings and introduces new rules for the arbitration of corporate disputes in relation to Russian companies.
