The Joint Seminar of Russian Arbitration Association and Istanbul Chamber of Commerce Arbitration Centre (ITOTAM Istanbul Arbitration Days Contemporary Topics in and Future of Arbitration) has taken place on November 17 in Istanbul.
The Seminar was dedicated to the relevant questions of modern arbitration and perspectives of its development in the future. A lot of prominent legal professionals participated in this event as speakers and shared their experience and ideas with the audience. On the part of the Association Vladimir Khvalei, RAA Chairman of the Board, presented his report about the new Russian arbitration legislation. Roman Zykov, RAA Secretary General, gave the presentation concerning the topics of recognition and enforcement of arbitral awards in Russia and Timur Aitkulov, RAA Board Member, made the speech about the rules of ethics for counsel in arbitration.
Dmitry Dyakin and Mikhail Samoylov, lawyers of EPAM law firm, discussed corporate disputes in Russia and impact of sanctions on dispute resolution.
Foreign colleagues also highlighted the issues of online dispute resolution (Simel Sarıalioğlu, Senior Associate, Paksoy Hukuk), arbitrating construction disputes (Doğan Gültutan, Associate at Esin Attorney Partnership) and third-party financing (Eggo Jan Rietema, Partner at Omni Bridgeway).
The Seminar was culminated in the solemnly signing of the Agreement of cooperation between RAA and ITOTAM.
