We kindly invite you to take part in the International Annual Forum on the WTO Law organized by the Kaliningrad State Technical University which will take place from 25 - 27 March 2015 in Radisson hotel. The topic of the Forum 2015 is the “Effective membership of the Russian Federation in the World Trade Organization, regional problematics and the specific application of the basic WTO agreements”.
Within the framework of the Forum the first conference of the Expert Group on Agriculture and Trade Policy in the CIS countries will be held under the auspices of the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO). The FAO Regional Initiative on Agri-Food Trade and Regional Integration focuses on strengthening national and regional capacities in Europe and Central Asia to deal effectively with the challenges posed by greater trade integration. The conference is devoted to discussion of the topic "Integration processes in the CIS countries and their impact on agricultural trade."
The Forum will bring together leading experts in economics, law and international relations, representatives of the Legal Department of the World Trade Organization (Geneva, Switzerland), the Institute of International Trade, University of Bern (Bern, Switzerland), Ministry of Economic Development, the Eurasian Economic Commission, the Society of International Economic Law, heads of legal departments of companies, representatives of the international legal and economic community, teachers and students of educational institutions of the Russian Federation.
The existence of such a platform in Kaliningrad region contributes to the furthering of Russian products and services to the markets of other WTO Member States, diversification and switching from the raw based economy to the supply of innovative products and goods with a high added value.
The Forum is aimed at creation of a positive business image of Russia, the presentation of its industrial and investment potential. The opinion of the Russian economic community on the key problems of the economy is presented at the Forum. The fact that Russia is a member of the WTO, makes the trade regime in the country more predictable and transparent, and it is necessary, therefore, to improve the business rating of the Russian Federation and create the opportunities for attracting foreign direct investments to the significative sectors of the economy.
The Forum continues the tradition of the Prussian ball. The first Königsberg ball will be held on the 27th of March, 2015. This tradition which has been revived nowadays preserves the cultural continuity of the society and the nation.
The Forum will be held in Russian and English with simultaneous interpreting.
