Arbitration Association 40 is pleased to invite you to a seminar, which will be dedicated to impact that shareholders claims challenging validity of contracts may have on arbitrations conducted under these contracts (the so-called “Russian Torpedo”).

The seminar will address the full spectrum of issues arising from Russian torpedo: can they be avoided at the time the parties enter into a transaction, how should a Russian court and arbitrators about deal with them, what’s the proper role of anti-suit injunctions and can an award rendered on the basis of an invalidated contract still be enforced.


PROGRAM

The seminar will be divided in two parts. During the first part some of the speakers will act as counsel for parties to a mock case before the Moscow Commercial Court arising from a claim the respondent characterizes as a “Russian Torpedo” (summary of facts). The second part will consist of a roundtable discussion of the various issues described above.
