The Fifth ICC Lex Mercatoria Moot

This year International Law & Arbitration Association (BILA Association) joined the organizing team and the English Chapter of the Moot was established promoting the Competition even wider than it used to be.

Russian chapter of the Moot on International Commercial Arbitration has gathered 17 teams from Armenia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Russia and Ukraine. English Chapter was represented by 10 teams from Belarus, Kazakhstan, Russia, USA and Ukraine.

As in the previous Moots, the mock case was found on the materials of real dispute resolved in the ICC International Court of Arbitration.

Oral rounds were assessed by 70 special guest arbitrators, among which there were representatives of the ICC International Court of Arbitration (Paris), the arbitrators of the International Arbitration Court at the BCCI, coaches, partners and lawyers of international and domestic law firms.

We congratulate the winners and wish them further success:

•   The team from the Faculty of Law of Belarusian State University, I place in Russian-language chapter of the Moot;

•   The team from the Kutafin Moscow State Law University, II place in Russian-language chapter of the Contest

•   Teams from Russian Foreign Trade Academy and the Faculty of Law of Belarusian State University, which have split between themselves the III place in the Russian-language chapter of the Contest.

•   The team from the Faculty of International Relations of Belarusian State University, I place in the English-language version of the Contest;

•   Team from Russian Foreign Trade Academy, I place in the category "Best Applicant Memorial";

•   The team from the Faculty of International Relations of Belarusian State University, I place in the category "Best Respondent Memorial».
