About the project
May 31 is the day of the Russian Advocacy and World No Tobacco Day. June 1 is the International Children's Day. We thought that it would be a great idea to join these wonderful occasions and created a unique fundraising project uniting representatives of the legal professional community.
In 2015, the Run went global. On May 31, 2015, together with the primary Run in Moscow, under the auspices of Legal Run 2015 the event was recreated in St. Petersburg, London, Nizhny Novgorod, Samara and Novosibirsk, gathering more than 1,300 lawyer participants, 26 of which took part in the London Legal Run at the Primrose Hill Park.
The Run brought together Russian and international law firms, in-house lawyers, law school students and academia. A number of corporate teams took part in the Run.
Legal Run is a fundraising project, which raised last year more than 2.6 million roubles. Contributions are collected during the online registration for the Run to provide targeted medical assistance to critically ill children.
The official run in the aforementioned cities was accompanied by Global Legal Run all over the world, an international flashmob. Lawyers from 26 cities and 14 countries took part in the Legal Run: from Vladivostok to Kaliningrad in Russia and from Prague to Lisbon in Europe. A few lawyers joined the run even in the US.
