International arbitration, cross-border and domestic litigation, regulatory.
Acted as counsel in Stockholm, London, Moscow and Zurich in a significant number of international arbitrations in relation to nuclear energy, oil and gas, mining and general commercial matters.

  • Represented Tekhsnabexport in international arbitration proceedings in Stockholm in a dispute for approx. USD 1 billion in connnection with nuclear materials deliveries to the US (the final award in this case was issued in favour of Tekhsnabexport) and in the course of challenging the award by the other party in the Svea Court of Appeal in Stockholm.
  • Represnted Sberbank in negotiations with General Motors and its affiliated parties for compensation of damages caused to Sberbank by the acquisition of Opel that did not come through.
  • Represented Sevmash in arbitration proceedings at the Arbitration Institute of the Stockholm Chamber of Commerce in connection with claims in excess of USD 300 million, filed by a Norwegian shipowner due to cancellation of ship-builiding contracts.
  • Represented several major international investment organisations in arbitration proceedings related to investments into shares of a Russian energy company. The disputes are pending at Russian state courts, the amount in dispute exceeds USD 500 million.
