Dmitry A. Pentsov is a Partner at Geneva office of FRORIEP Legal SA. He heads the Firm's Russia and CIS practice group. Mr. Pentsov is actively involved in the Firm’s dispute resolution practice, with a particular focus on disputes related to Russia and other republics of the former USSR. He represented parties before Swiss state courts and acted as counsel in international arbitration (ICC Rules, Swiss Rules of International Arbitration, and Vienna Rules, amongst others) in various disputes, arising out of the international sale of goods, joint venture agreements, agreements for the performance of work, service agreements, construction agreements, loan agreements and distribution agreements. He also represented parties before the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) and before the Swiss Federal Tribunal.
Mr. Pentsov graduated with honors from the Law Faculty of St. Petersburg State University, completed his post-graduate studies at the Department of Civil Law of the same Faculty and defended his dissertation for the Candidate of Legal Sciences Degree on "The concept of "security" under the legislation of the United States of America". He also holds the LL.M. Degree from the Georgetown University Law Center as well as the Bachelor of Law Degree, the Master of Law Degree and the Certificate of advanced studies in legal professions from the Law Faculty of the University of Geneva. He is a member of the New York State Bar Association, of the St Petersburg City Bar Association, and of the Geneva Bar (ranked 2nd at the Geneva Bar Exam).
Mr. Pentsov authored and co-authored more than 60 publications, including 2 books.
